I have been taking photographs for over 30 years - mostly slide film but
I finally went digital about 18 months ago and have been delighted with the
quality, ease of use and the added pleasure of manipulating photographs in aphoto editor. The ability to see the results almost immediately is
fantastic - no more waiting for the slide boxes to arrive and wondering whether
I really captured the image I was after. Don't let the purists tell you
that slide is still better - it isn't any more. The ability of
modern digital camera sensors to take photographs coupled with a photo editor
for post shot processing is an unbeatable combination!
In 2008, I gained my Licentiate from the Royal Photographic Society - to be awarded this distinction you have to present a panel of 10 photographs demonstrating a range of photographic ability . Additionally, the panel (two rows of 5 prints) has to hold together to show style and flow. Needless to say I am very pleased to have the initals LRPS after my name!
Since 2008,I have also had my work exhibited at Photographic Exhibitions throughout the UK.
